People Will Be Negative When Your Make Moves To Better Yourself

Hey guys I want to address something today. One of my clients received some negative feedback from some loved ones.

They said...

  1. "Why did you spend money on a personal trainer? That's expensive!"

  2. "You don't need to lose weight. You are fine just the way you are. "

  3. "We are already old. You dont need to worry about getting into shape. There's no point." 😒

There is always going to be negative feedback from the people that are close to you. They will criticize you when you make a MOVE to better yourself. I'm here to tell you to ignore that stuff! They are just projecting their own insecurities. The stuff they have not worked out in their heart is being projected on to you.

Whats funny is this past Sunday this was brought up in church.

Proverbs 18:21

"Death and Life are in the power of the tongue, they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof."

What that basically means is Words Are Powerful!

They can bring you to LIFE or DEATH.

So be mindful of what you say. On the way to church I was listening to an audible book called, The Millionare Mind written by Dr. Thomas J. Stanley. He talks about the characteristics of millionares and leaders. He says,

"The majority either ignore their critics or use the criticism as an inspiration to succeed."

- Dr. Thomas J. Stanley

So basically you have to grow thick skin for your critics. You have to realize that there will be people that say negative things. Whenever you are making moves and you're looking for support from people that are close to you and they say the opposite of what you expected make sure that rolls right off your back! Because it's just them projecting their own insecurities, their own problems, and their own negative experiences on to you. They're expecting you to fail just as they did or they are trying to protect you from the failure that they encountered in their life. Just remember its negative feedback and its not positive. Try and remember that proverb.

Maybe even quote it to them.

Also, be mindful of what you tell yourself! What goes on in your head and what you tell yourself MATTERS. Too many times I see people shake their head NO or say, "I can't" before they even try an exercise. If you have that habit 99% of the time you're setting yourself up for failure in life because this bad habit transcends in to other things in life.
